Prioritize moves that free up these hidden cards over moves that just shift cards around.
Second, manage your empty columns wisely. Don't empty a column just because you can. Only clear a space if you have a King ready to fill it, preferably a King that will allow you to move a large stack and expose more hidden cards beneath it.
